Ian is vastly educated in business administration and Engineering. He obtained his Masters of Business Administration at the Wilfred Laurier University—Waterloo, Ontario, in Canada and Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from Queens University—Kingston, Ontario, also in Canada
Ian has 40 years of experience in the energy, chemical, and power project business; consulting and managing large, major, international firms. He possesses deep knowledge and experience in a broad spectrum of management responsibilities:
Ian has been President and CEO of three (3) different companies and responsible for profit performance of a $1 billion E&C group; top executive for a $250 million construction company and an engineering fabrication company; and consultant to a Board of Directors on troubled projects and organizations. He is skilled in managing turnaround challenges in operating and cultural diversity and improving operations and profits; he excels in building high-performance teams, systems improvements, negotiations and project management. Mr. Anderson also is recognised for being able to analyse complex situations and determining key actions and critical recommendations required to solve problems on both international and domestic projects.
Ian’s professional experience includes the following:
• President & CEO and Member of the Board of Ventech Engineers LP—Pasadena, TX, USA, 2015 to 2017. Ventech is a designer and fabricator of modular process units for the midstream, refinery and chemical sectors, with over 350 modules installed in more than 20 countries. Mr. Anderson was responsible for the profit and loss of this $350M company.
• President & CEO of Bilfinger TEPSCO Inc.—Deer Park, TX, USA, from 2012 to 2015. There, he was responsible for the profit and loss of a $250M construction company employing more than 1,000 people. The company is a direct-hire, open shop, executing capital projects for the oil and gas sector in upstream, midstream and downstream, with its own fabrication facility. Mr. Anderson successfully executed a major turnaround in operations, building a strong team with profitable performance. He strengthened the management team, added systems and tools, reduced overhead and broadened the customer base. He transitioned the company to larger, more complex construction projects, focused on downstream clients.
• President, Energy and Chemicals Business Group CH2M (Now Jacobs)—Denver, CO, USA, from 2010 to 2011. Mr. Anderson was responsible for the profit and loss of a $1 billion global energy and chemical business with more than 5,000 employees. The business comprises an engineering line, construction and long-term maintenance contracts, and operates in upstream, midstream, downstream and specialty chemicals sectors of the oil and gas business. Clients include IOCs, NOCs, chemical companies and mining companies. Geographies served included the US, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Russia, UAE, Iraq and Qatar.
